You must have faith in yourself and your career. You also have to believe that your training will provide you with the tools necessary to be successful. Before I give you the six steps, I am going to tell you a story. This is the story of a service advisor who got tired. This advisor got tired of being yelled at by difficult customers, tired of fighting every day to make a sale, tired of not making the kind of money they knew they could. They got tired of disappointing themselves and watching others have the life they wanted. One day this service advisor decided, enough is enough! They decide that they were going to maximize their opportunity and that they were going to get it right. They decided that they were going to have perfect survey scores. They decided that they were going to bring their customer retention to above 85%. They decided that they were going to write 2.5 repair hours per customer. They decided that they were going to be the true professional they knew they could be. The service advisor I am talking about is YOU!!
Why do you want to show-up every day and not maximize your opportunity for success? Why would you not want to take advantage of something that could provide you with the type of lifestyle you deserve? I have many friends who have written service for over thirty years. Writing service has afforded them great lives. Some became managers, general managers, business owners, and entrepreneurs, giving them even more of a great thing. All of them knew that they had to be the best they could be. They had to look in the mirror every day and make it happen. They knew that they could not depend on anyone else for their success. They had to depend on themselves.Incorporate the following six steps into your daily routine and begin realizing your full potential:
STEP 1: Set aside 30 minutes each day to learn a new technique/word track, or anything that will make you better at what you do.
STEP 2: Set aside 30 minutes each day to read. Find the time. Reading just one book a month for a year will put you among the top 25% of intellectuals in the world. Reading five books on any one subject will make you an expert on that subject. The possibilities are endless as to what you can learn from simply reading each day.
STEP 3: Spend 10 minutes a day roleplaying.
STEP 4: Get to work a full 30 minutes before your shift starts. Use this time to prepare for the day so that you are ready to go when the first customer walks through the door.
STEP 5: Stay at work until the last of your vehicles is delivered. You must stay. Your career depends on it. (The good news is that I can show you how to get your customers to come in way before 6 p.m.)
STEP 6: Set aside 2 to 5% of your annual income for education. You must always be striving to be better. Never stop learning.
